I’m Lesley and I am super excited you’re here to join my review journey.

I created this site because ever since I can remember stories have been an integral part of my life. They bring me joy and offer a much-needed distraction from the difficulties of everyday life. I love to be entertained and I love to try new things (content-wise). For those of you who know me personally and are laughing at the try new things bit….I’m getting there! I ingest a lot of stories in various forms and typically end up searching through review sites to find the post-story dialogue I’m craving. I want a place I can go to read a credible review. Often enough the reviews I read are entertaining and almost always provide clarity to some latent confusion I didn’t realize I had. But sometimes these reviews don’t mention the biggest questions or topics I have in mind. On the off chance they do, the reviewer’s perspective rarely mirrors my own as a bookish, Black, millennial.

My goal with Reviews By Lesley is to geek out with others and provide a different perspective on the stories I encounter. I am an avid reader and movie/tv viewer. My taste in book genres includes fantasy, sci-fi, horror and romance. Favorites for books include A Song of Ice and Fire, Wild Seed, the ACOTAR series, and The UnHoneymooners. Favorites for tv and film include Big Little Lies, Game of Thrones, The Witcher, American Horror Story (the first few seasons), and the Infinity Saga Marvel movies.

These days with so much content to read, watch, and listen to, I hope to share some of my thoughts, prompt some conversation, and share some awesome recommendations with you.
